Offline Flyer Campaign for Hoolala Chicken
Founded in 1997 in South Korea, Hoolala Chicken has built a global reputation for its Korean-style fried chicken. The brand is known for its crispy, flavourful chicken and creative menu offerings. Its first Canadian location, opened in Richmond Hill at 1285 Elgin Mills Road East, brings Hoolala’s signature taste to local communities, offering both classic favourites and innovative dishes to families, seniors, and new customers alike.
Problem
As major Korean fried chicken franchises rapidly entered the local Korean town in North york, competition in the market intensified. Hoolala Chicken, a long standing neighbourhood brand, needed to strengthen its visibility and boost performance to remain relevant.
At the same time, the Elgin Mill and Richmond Hill areas, which are home to many families and seniors, were identified as communities where offline advertising would be more effective than digital channels.
Process
● Conducted audience research to understand the needs of family- and senior-oriented demographics, focusing on clarity, accessibility, and strong visuals.
● Highlighted the restaurant’s best-selling Original Fried Chicken to emphasize trust and familiarity, while introducing the new Hot Barbecue Chicken with bold imagery to spark curiosity.
● Integrated a QR code that connected directly to the online menu, bridging offline engagement with digital touchpoints.
● Designed a detachable free voucher as both a tangible incentive for first-time visits and a tool for tracking campaign performance.
Solution
Developed and distributed an offline flyer tailored to the local community. The design balanced clear, accessible layouts with eye-catching food photography, effectively combining traditional print advertising with modern, measurable engagement tools.

Outcome
Enhanced brand visibility within the neighbourhood and reinforced Hoolala Chicken’s position amid growing competition.
The flyer drove first-time visits, with many customers mentioning the campaign during their orders. Free voucher redemptions demonstrated its success in attracting new customers, while QR code scans provided measurable data to guide future marketing strategies.
